Installation Martine Rose x Nike Dover Street Market

Martine Rose, one of London’s brightest and most important designers, celebrates the creation of her eponymous brand
While the pair received a small drop on Martin Rose’s own website, the pair is now rolling out to retailers and it’s kicking off with DSML. As the first official stockist to offer the Shox mule, which was seen during the designer’s Spring/Summer 2023 show at London Fashion Week Men’s, DSML is now displaying the shoe alongside a bespoke selection of images shot by Rose’s longtime collaborator Roxy Lee.
Lee’s keychain art has become the London-based designer’s signature, and now it decorates a white box in-store. The theme continues from the aforementioned SS23 runway show, offering never-before-seen campaign imagery that echoes the sneaker collaboration’s ethos – of uplifting and empowering women, especially female footballers.
Throughout the installation, a spotlight on notable female names in the world of football including Hope Powell CBE, Marta Corredera, Ruth Ruano Carmona, Kat Craig, Founé Diawara, Khartoum Dembelé, Jess Grant, Maria Romanchenko, Jasma and Shikofa. Here, their headshots and close-ups wearing the shoe sit alongside Rose and Lee’s signatures, while two plinths proudly display the Nike Shox MR4.
The shoe itself draws heavy inspiration from football, as well as Rose’s own formal footwear, and combines this on the much-loved Shox silhouette which sees the single unit system act as a heel. Available in ‘Black/Red’ or ‘White’, the Martine Rose x Nike Shox MR4 is available at DSML in-store and online now for £180 GBP/$200 USD.
Take a look at the installation above and head to London’s Dover Street Market to experience it for yourself.
In other news, adidas have announced their ‘Pitch, Please’ initiative which gives wxman, girls and non-binary people access to London football pitches.
