OrthoLite expands O-Therm range of cold block insole solutions

OrthoLite announced the expansion of its thermal foam, OrthoLite O-Therm. Previously limited to a thickness of 2mm, O-Therm is now available in a thickness range of 2mm to 20mm.
According to the company… “This provides a more customizable cold block solution for brands with the most adaptable and best performing thermal material available for cold weather footwear solutions.”
O-Therm technology creates a thermal barrier that blocks the cold and maintains the temperature regulation of the shoes. Utilizing advanced airgel, O-Therm’s proprietary combination of materials provides thermal regulation for cold weather protection.
“Another key attribute of airgel is its lightness. Airgel is the lightest synthetic material and weighs only three times the weight of air. The air porosity of the material is more than 90% and the low density of the material improves the performance of the shoe with lightweight comfort.
Advanced O-Therm airgel is also hydrophobic, meaning it repels water and draws moisture away from the foot to provide a drier, more comfortable indoor environment. Exclusive to OrthoLite, this proprietary advanced airgel requires no special handling or encapsulation – billed as a world first.
“By offering footwear brands the ability to precisely select the range of thicknesses to meet their specifications, O-Therm is poised to become the market’s most versatile and industry-standard offering for footwear solutions for cold weather,” said Rob Falken, vice president of innovation at OrthoLite. .
“Combined with O-Therm’s unparalleled technical advantage, making the product more relevant to consumer needs will allow brands to go further in developing the most precisely applicable and best performing cold weather footwear. in a wide range of footwear categories including: outdoor, casual, work, ski and snowboard, fashion and other outdoor sectors.
As a vertically integrated US company with facilities around the world, OrthoLite works with its brand partners to create and produce custom insole formulations.
