Skepta’s Big Smoke Corp Announces Partnership with PUMA
Skepta’s whirlwind year shows no signs of slowing down as the star continues to make power moves. With a distinct line across fashion, music, art and business, it would seem Skep is following Pharrell and Childish Gambino in boasting the trappings of a true Renaissance man.
For a quick refresher on Big Chief Skeppy’s year so far: he produced ASAP’s DMB single Rocky (in which Rihanna is featured prominently in the video), he bombed the Governors Ball Music Festival and Rolling Loud Portugal, brought him back to DJing at Ibiza’s iconic CircoLoco Party at DC-10 in honor of Virgil Abloh, made his Sotheby’s debut as a painter with “Mama Went to Market”, and now a partner of PUMA.
Taking to Instagram, Skepta wrote “cheers creative control” in a post announcing the new partnership between his company Big Smoke Corp and global sportswear powerhouse PUMA.
In the image (in which he is wearing a PUMA x Palomo polo shirt), Skepta is seen alongside PUMA CEO Björn Gulden, who wears a t-shirt with the Big Smoke Corp logo – the same logo that appears on the chains Skep and co.
While the details of this partnership remain a mystery, for now PUMA has likely recognized Skepta’s sales potential through its work with Nike. The products speak for themselves: Air Max 97, Air Max BW, Tailwind V, Air Max Deluxe and Shox TL, all under the Sk Air brand.
While we’re unlikely to get any new bars from Skepta this year, we may be seeing the first rumblings of new footwear and apparel – what more could you ask for?
